Review: Omega-3 acids have antidepressant effects

Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids found in fish and flax seed oil have antidepressant effects, according to a review of 10 clinical trials. However, scientists stress that it's still too early to recommend omega-3s as a treatment for depression or bipolar disorder, saying more studies are needed to determine the best makeup and dosage for supplements.
