Obama administration might compromise on public health plan

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Sunday that the proposed government-run insurance option was not an "essential element" of the health care overhaul plan. The remarks came a day after President Barack Obama said the public option "is not the entirety of health care reform," an indication that the Obama administration might be willing to forgo the measure to pass health reform legislation.
