Teacher: Students should be honored for more than top grades

Students should be rewarded for more than just high-level academic achievement, according to one teacher, who writes that school awards should go to students who excel in critical thinking, collaboration and other less quantifiable achievements. In a blog post, Stephen Hurley writes that schools could give an award to a group of students who worked together on a project or to individual students who consistently looked at all angles of each issue.
