Banks ease lending standards despite little change in demand

A recent survey by the Federal Reserve found that banks loosened lending standards and terms in the second quarter despite little change in demand for consumer and business credit. The Fed said the change was "a modest unwinding of the widespread tightening that occurred over the past few years." It is the first time since 2006 that the survey found small-business loan standards loosening.
