Cisco splits Asian units to tackle local markets

Cisco has restructured its Asian management team, as part of a broader effort to make the company more responsive to individual markets' needs. The new system will help Cisco develop strategies targeting rural consumers in India and video services in Japan, says Edzard Overbeek, the company's Asia Pacific and Japan president. "Once we come to a certain size, we split things and go deep into those opportunities," he explains.
