Government wants to require seat belt use on commercial buses

The Department of Transportation unveiled a proposal Monday that would require commercial buses to provide seat belts for passengers. The department noted that 186 people were killed in bus crashes between 1999 and 2008. "Seat belts save lives, and putting them in motorcoaches just makes sense," said Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
