Home care may help older patients live longer after hip surgery

The survival rate was higher in elderly patients who received home care after a partial hip surgery compared with those who didn't, according to a study in Canada. However, the study found that patients who received home care tended to be younger, were more likely to have acute kidney failure, and received treatment in teaching hospitals or lower volume health facilities.
