New tax credit could help small firms offer health care

Small businesses nationwide can be eligible for a tax credit of up to 35% of the cost of health care plans under a new plan being unveiled this year. The measure is expected to help small businesses offer health care to workers as rising costs forced about 12% of nearly 500 small businesses in a dozen states to end coverage.
