RFA: Appropriations process is being used to cut support for ethanol

Anti-ethanol lawmakers are using the appropriations process to eliminate funding support for the industry after failing to hobble U.S. ethanol production through normal legislative and regulatory measures, according to Bob Dinneen, president and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association. To counter these efforts, renewable-energy supporters must work together, criticize the "hypocrisy" of giving tax breaks to oil and natural gas companies while slashing incentives for renewable energy, and continue to look for "new solutions and areas of commonality," Dinneen said.
