Revised Verizon spectrum deal gets OK from Justice Department

The Department of Justice on Thursday signed off on the $3.9 billion acquisition of wireless spectrum from Comcast and other cable companies by Verizon Wireless. Verizon and the cable companies agreed to stop their joint marketing agreements in four years. The Federal Communications Commission has yet to approve the deal, but Chairman Julius Genachowski is pushing for the agency to give the deal a positive nod.
