U.S. state authorities subpoena 7 banks regarding Libor

Attorneys general in U.S. states New York and Connecticut are jointly investigating possible manipulation of the London Interbank Offered Rate and have subpoenaed seven banks, including Barclays, Royal Bank of Scotland, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase. The authorities are the latest to widen their inquiry into possible Libor rigging. The U.K. Serious Fraud Office also is looking into alleged manipulation of benchmark interest rates.
