La. directs more money to publicly funded online courses

Officials in Louisiana recently found an additional $1 million for the state's online voucher program, ensuring that every student who wants to enroll in the Course Choice program will be able to. Officials said the additional funds -- redirected from second-grade testing -- were enough to eliminate a wait list for the program that had grown to more than 1,000 students. The online program allows students at struggling schools to take some courses online.
