La. panel OKs tax incentives for Sasol's petrochemical facility

Louisiana's Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget has approved $257 million in tax incentives for Sasol's planned petrochemical facility in the state. Sasol's project could add billions to business and household earnings in the state over 15 years while producing $873 million in state revenues, according to a Louisiana State University study. "This project is the biggest single economic development project in the history of our state," said Stephen Moret, the state's economic development secretary.
