For most workers approaching retirement, delaying the day they start receiving Social Security benefits is the best investment decision, writes Henry Hebeler. Many arguments in favor of taking Social Security benefits at age 62 are based on the questionable assumption of high investment returns throughout retirement, and fail to take into account spousal benefits, he notes.
