Supersonic business jet could be on the way

According to Dimitri Papamoschou, a professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at the University of California, Irvine, the main impediment to building a supersonic commercial airliner right now is economics. But supersonic business travel could be on the horizon. For the last 10 years, Aerion has been working with NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center to develop a business jet that can fly at Mach 1.6, and the company says it hopes to bring the aircraft to the market within the next decade.
