Hispanic cheese increasingly made in Wisconsin

Wisconsin cheese makers now make up close to half of the 46 plants that produce Hispanic cheeses in the U.S. and the volume produced in the state has doubled since 1997. For example, Roth Kase USA is a family-owned company that was built on their Swiss heritage, but a spokesperson says Hispanic varieties are "becoming more significant" to their product line, which they support by employing an Hispanic cheese maker and using bilingual retail case cards.
