Researchers at NutraSweet and Senomyx Inc., are working on the next generation of products that will sweeten foods with less calories. The latest science at Senomyx is focusing on finding chemicals that can enhance human taste receptors so less sugar can be used in formulating foods. At NutraSweet, researchers are looking for the right combination of chemicals to produce an artificial sweetener with a less artificial taste.
