Italian destination feels pressure of massive tourism

San Gimignano, Italy, has joined the ranks of other destinations trying to balance the appetite of tourists with their impact on the city. "Of course, we can't restrict the number of tourists," said Marco Lisi, San Gimignano's mayor. "But at the same time we can't pretend that nothing is wrong, or endanger the patrimony we're supposed to protect. This is a medieval city, not Disneyland."
