Top Japanese scientist pursues stem cell study at Calif. facility

Shinya Yamanaka has joined J. David Gladstone Institutes, a San Francisco-based nonprofit research facility, to work on a means to reprogram human cells to create embryonic stem cells within the next two years. Yamanaka had earlier success at creating embryonic-like cells from mouse skin cells at Kyoto University.
