Hershey increases U.S. wholesale prices by 10%

Hershey will raise its U.S. wholesale prices by about 10%, as costs for cocoa, corn sweeteners and other ingredients have increased by 20% to 45% this year. The company expects its 2009 costs to double from 2008 levels. "The size of the price increase is the real surprise" in a historically recession-resistant industry, an analyst said.
