Banker: Slowest days for chemical industry mergers likely are over

As discussion of mergers and acquisitions among global chemical companies picks up, it appears the market has bottomed out, an investment banker says. While uncertainty in the financial markets caused merger-and-acquisition activity to stall through the first half of the year, a more stable economy has pushed some to consider such activity again, the banker said.
