Computer-generated roof measurements cut costs, CEO says

GeoEstimator of Indianapolis has developed a way to use software and satellite aerial images of buildings to measure rooftops. The company sells the rooftop measurements to insurers and roofing contractors for about $30 each. GeoEstimator CEO Dale Thornberry believes the ongoing need to replace and repair roofs will drive demand for the service, which he notes is less expensive than the cost of taking measurements.
