Dell dips toe in smartphones with China Mobile deal

Dell will develop a smartphone for China Mobile -- the PC maker's first entry into the market -- with the mini3i, a device that will be compatible with the carrier's platform and the mobile-application market it launched today, China Mobile disclosed. China Mobile's new Mobile Market will compete with China Unicom, which denied reports it had purchased millions of iPhones in preparation for a deal with Apple.
