Net music services weather one challenge, face others

Having negotiated better terms with the music industry, online music services such as Pandora and imeem have weathered a key challenge to making their ad-supported sites viable. However, still uncertain is whether they can generate major advertising. "A pure advertising play hasn't panned out from a revenue standpoint because [these sites] haven't been able to generate the audience necessary," one analyst said.
