New York scenic byway struggles with modern traffic

The Taconic State Parkway is one of New York's most scenic byways, but also last month was the site of Westchester's deadliest accident in 75 years. The road was designed as a recreational parkway in the 1920s but now faces the modern reality of commuter traffic. The winding lanes do not have overhead street lights, and some intersections still have stop signs rather than overpasses or stoplights.
