NIH center to require recording of radiation dose exposure

The NIH Clinical Center's Radiology and Imaging Sciences unit will require its newly purchased PET/CT and CT equipment to regularly record a patient's radiation dose exposure in an electronic medical record and in patients' personal health record. This initiative "is an important first step in making it possible to more easily document and track information about a patient's exposure to radiation," Clinical Center Director Dr. John I. Gallin said.
