Self-control key in preventing children's weight gain

Researchers suggest that instead of prohibiting children from eating certain foods to prevent them from becoming obese, parents should help their children make healthy food choices and learn about self-control. In a study of 197 non-Hispanic white girls, they found that those who had high levels of perceived parental food restrictions and low self-control were at the highest risk of gaining weight.
