Coal-fired power plants are expanding across America

The nation's demand for coal and coal-fired power plants remains intact: About 30 traditional coal plants have been built since 2008 or are under construction today, according to an Associated Press review of Energy Department records. The buildout of coal plants extends from Arizona to Washington and South Carolina and represents the industry's largest expansion in 20 years.
