Hotel acquisitions in Europe are expected to top those in U.S.

Hotel acquisitions in Europe should exceed those in the U.S. this year, as slower development allows hotels in Europe to better retain their property value, according to Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. Acquisitions should reach about $5.5 billion in Europe, compared with $4.5 billion in the Americas, with the U.S. accounting for about 90% of acquisitions in the Americas.
