Ireland looks strong after a successful bond auction

Demand was strong for Ireland's €1.5 billion bond auction, proving fears about the country's stability were unfounded. Investors were concerned that additional turmoil in the euro zone's sovereign-bond market was on the horizon after a sharp spread widening in Ireland's government bonds. Those fears proved to be overdone as Ireland drew €5.1 billion in bids for its bond auction.
