Nook overhauls apps for iPad, iPhone

Barnes & Noble has rolled out revamped Nook e-reader applications for Apple's iPad and iPhone as part of a ramped-up effort to compete with Amazon's Kindle, Fast Company reports. The app for iPhone includes functions designed to make reading digital texts easier on the eye and the first in-app book-rating function, the company says.
