Production jumps more than expected

Factory production climbed 1%, about twice as much as expected, last month, indicating that manufacturing is doing the heavy lifting in the economic recovery. Gains in manufacturing are being fueled by more business investment. However, a slowdown in overseas growth and consumer spending is expected to hinder the pace of expansion.
