Social shopping sites set an example for merchants

Retailers looking to ramp up their social media marketing efforts can look to the growing number of social shopping sites for examples of melding the two popular activities, writes consumer behaviorist Jim Lucas. Sites such as Kaboodle, Etsy and ShopStyle set examples that some more traditional retailers are already following, including Wet Seal, whose website lets customers create and rate outfits.
