Is Foxconn becoming more innovative than Apple?

Apple outsourced its manufacturing to Taiwan's Foxconn -- and in the process, writes Greg Lindsay, forfeits the technical prowess that comes with actually building things. Foxconn is already churning out $100 iPad knockoffs using the skills it learned filling orders for Apple, Lindsay notes, and it could eventually surpass its Western master in producing cutting-edge gadgets. "Given its separation from its production process, Apple may soon -- like its table competitors -- lose the ability to design innovative products," he writes.
