HHS awards additional $185M for state insurance exchanges

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has announced $185 million in additional health IT funds to help Washington, D.C., and 13 states develop health insurance exchanges. With many U.S. households shut out of the medical insurance industry, "exchanges will give them control and could save them thousands of dollars a year," Sebelius said in a letter to state governors.
