Official suggests legal action over NBCT bonuses in Okla.

A school board member in Oklahoma's Tahlequah Public Schools recommended this week that the board pay stipends for National Board Certified teachers and sue the state to recoup the cost. "We owe it to those who have gone through the rigorous certification process to become the best they can be," said Luke Foster. The state did not fund the stipends in this year's budget.
