Researchers create 41 quality-of-care indicators for children with SCD

Experts reported in Pediatrics that they had created 41 quality-of-care indicators for children with sickle cell disease, 17 of which were for routine health maintenance, 15 for acute or subacute care and nine for chronic care. They added that the eight indicators for transfusion, penicillin prophylaxis and four other topics were most likely to improve quality of life and/or health outcomes for pediatric patients.
