Participants with metabolic disorders face a 25% increased risk of developing kidney stones, a study in the American Journal of Kidney Diseases found. "Our findings suggest the need for interventional studies to test the effects of preventing and treating metabolic syndrome on the risk of kidney stone development," researchers said.
