Testing is critical to ensuring IPv6 security, experts say

While IPv6 is designed to offer more protection than its predecessor IPv4, it's not foolproof, says Merike Kaeo, chief network security architect for Double Shot Security. Kaeo said that because the protocol is so new and many devices and software packages are not fully compatible, comprehensive testing throughout the IPv6 deployment is essential to ironing out the bugs and enhancing security.
