Historical commission work to replace walls with brick

As older houses in Baltimore crumble or get torn down, the city's Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation is fighting to have exposed walls replaced by brick, instead of cinder block walls. The brick facing is substantially more expensive than cinder block, but the commission argues brick is needed to preserve the historic and residential landscape of the surrounding area.
