Improved school adopted mantra that "failure is not an option"

Educators at a Hawaii middle school adopted the attitude several years ago that every student could succeed regardless of background or other factors, an attitude they say has led them to have some of the highest test scores in the state. Teachers engage students by homing in on individual interests and using those interests in classroom lessons.
