J&J unit wins FDA panel's support for hip implant

An FDA panel of orthopedic experts unanimously voted to recommend the approval of Pinnacle Complete implant system from Johnson & Johnson's DePuy unit. The panelists advised the company to perform a decade-long follow-up safety study of the device, which is designed for patients who need to undergo a total hip joint replacement.
