Teachers need training to interpret student data

Student data will only help improve student achievement if teachers are trained to interpret the testing data, according to a New Zealand study presented at the Australian Council for Educational Research conference. "You've got to interpret the data, and you need to know what to do next for the students for the testing to make any difference," said Helen Trimperley of the University of Auckland, who authored the study.
