Chem management may help producers comply with new rules

The nonprofit group Chemical Strategies Partnership, which promotes the use of an industry practice called "chemical management services," may help chemical manufacturers align their production to meet potential Toxic Substances Control Act revisions. The San Francisco-based CSP helps producers reduce expenses related to chemical management while encouraging a greener supply chain. Chemical use is not an expertise of manufacturers, so suppliers are "in a position to bring new chemistry and new ideas to the floor," said Jill Kauffman Johnson, CSP's executive director.
