Chicago schools go for "gold" in USDA healthy challenge

Chicago Public Schools on Tuesday pledged that at least 100 schools over the next three years would be eligible for "gold" recognition in the Department of Agriculture's HealthierUS School Challenge program. Schools have been improving the nutritional value of their meal programs, and officials said standards will be raised to "gold" level across the district.
