Escaped zebras illustrate dangers of keeping wildlife as pets

A pair of zebras that escaped from the Sacramento Zoo in California during the weekend proved a danger to themselves and others as they ran through traffic on a busy city street. The escape has provided an opportunity for zookeepers to reinforce a message about the dangers of keeping exotic wild animals as pets. "Anything you see at the zoo is unsuitable as a pet," said curator Harrison Edell.
