Retail sales in Germany up 0.9% in first half of 2010

Germany's Federal Statistics Office Destatis revised its estimate for retail sales in the first half of the year, showing that consumers were more active than initially believed. Retail sales increased by 0.9% in the six months to June compared with the same period the previous year. Destatis previously reported that sales had declined 0.4%.
