Salmonella-related egg recall grows to 380 million

Health officials Wednesday expanded an egg recall to include the equivalent of 32 million cartons amid a salmonella outbreak that has sickened hundreds in several states. Menu items such as salad dressings and soups that use raw or undercooked eggs may serve to transmit the salmonella bacteria. Much of the investigation's focus so far has been on restaurants in California, Colorado and Minnesota, all states that have reported significant numbers of salmonella cases.
