S.C. spends $26M on port as container traffic grows

The South Carolina State Ports Authority has committed $26 million to improvement projects at the Port of Charleston, where container traffic surged 26% in July versus the same month a year ago. It was the fifth month of double-digit growth for the port, although authorities are still wary about a sustained recovery. On the West Coast, California ports have also been logging double-digit increases in container traffic.
