Android users gravitate toward apps, study finds

A Nielsen study finds that Android users strongly prefer using applications on their smartphones over leveraging mobile Web access. Two-thirds of user time monitored in the study involved interacting with apps, with users averaging 56 minutes on their phones per day. Android's top 50 apps accounted for 61% of usage time. Nielsen has not yet released comparable data for the iPhone.
